Bandwidth

Bandwidth is one of Kickcall's native telephony solutions. Connect Bandwidth once at the agency level instead of asking every business you manage to set up their own account. Once configured, Bandwidth becomes a number provider you can enable for any business — and that business can activate numbers and receive SMS delivery status directly from their own Connect Phone screen, without ever touching Bandwidth themselves.

Where to find this: Agency dashboard → Telephony → Bandwidth. You'll also see Twilio, NetSapiens, Asterisk and Others alongside it — each is configured the same way, from its own tab.

Before you start

  • Access to the Bandwidth Dashboard — with permission to view your Account ID, generate API Credentials (Client ID and Client Secret), and create Applications.

  • A default "from" number — a phone number you're comfortable using to send SMS notifications, alerts and system notes to the businesses you manage. This is separate from any number your businesses use for their own agents.

Step 1 — Get your Bandwidth API credentials

From the Bandwidth Dashboard, open Account → API Credentials and copy:

  1. Account ID — shown at the top left next to your account name. This is the value Kickcall's Account ID field asks for.

  2. Client ID and Client Secret — click + Add to generate a new credential pair, or use an existing one. Give it a description (e.g. "Kickcall") so you can identify it later.

Bandwidth Dashboard — API Credentials

Copy your Client Secret immediately. Bandwidth only shows the Client Secret once, at the moment you create it. If you lose it, you'll need to generate a new credential pair and update Kickcall with the new values.

Step 2 — Create a Messaging Application in Bandwidth

This application is what allows Bandwidth to send SMS delivery status back to Kickcall.

  1. In the Bandwidth Dashboard, go to Applications and click + Create.

  2. Give the application a recognizable name (e.g. "Kickcall Production App").

Bandwidth Dashboard — Applications
  1. Under Callback, enter the webhook URL shown on Kickcall's Bandwidth configuration screen as the Callback URL.

  2. Check Use a username/password for callbacks, then set a Callback user ID and Callback password — you'll enter these into Kickcall's Webhook Username and Webhook Password fields.

  3. Under Status callback types, check message-delivered and message-failed. Kickcall requires both to track SMS delivery.

  4. Click Save and note the Application ID Bandwidth assigns.

Your callback password is only visible once. Like the Client Secret, Bandwidth shows the callback password only while you're creating it. Copy it before leaving the screen, or you'll need to reset it and update Kickcall.

Step 3 — Enter your Bandwidth details in Kickcall

Go to Telephony → Bandwidth → Configuration and enter each value:

Telephony › Bandwidth — Configuration form
  • Account ID — your Bandwidth Account ID, shown at the top of your Bandwidth Dashboard.

  • Client ID — from the API Credentials you created in Step 1.

  • Client Secret — from that same credential pair.

  • Application ID — shown after you save your Messaging Application in Step 2.

  • From Number — a number of your choice, used to send SMS notifications, alerts and system notes to the businesses you manage. Not tied to any single business's agent.

Step 4 — Configure the webhook, branding (optional), and save

  1. Enter the Webhook Username and Webhook Password — the same Callback user ID and Callback password you set on your Bandwidth Application in Step 2.

  2. (Optional) Scroll to Customize Your Telephony Service, upload a Logo (recommended 200×60px, PNG or SVG) and enter a Display Name — this replaces "Bandwidth" wherever businesses see this option.

  3. Check the box confirming that all telephony credentials and configurations have been completed correctly.

  4. Click Configure to save.

Telephony › Bandwidth — Webhook credentials, branding, and confirmation

Double-check before confirming. The confirmation checkbox is your acknowledgment that every credential above is correct. An incorrect Client Secret, Application ID or webhook credential can prevent every business using this integration from sending or receiving messages.

Step 5 — Enable Bandwidth for a business

Configuring Bandwidth at the agency level makes it available as an option — it does not automatically turn it on for every business.

  1. Go to Businesses in your Agency dashboard.

  2. Find the business and click the Edit (pencil) icon in the Action column.

Businesses list — the Edit icon opens that business’s settings
  1. Scroll down to Telephony Services and check the box for Bandwidth (or your white-label display name from Step 4).

  2. Click Update to save.

Business edit page — Telephony Services, with Bandwidth enabled for this business

Repeat for each business. Enabling Bandwidth here only applies to the business you're editing — enabling it for one business does not enable it for the others.

What businesses see

Once enabled, the business can select this integration from their own Connect Phone screen and activate a number, the same way they would with any other native provider — with no Bandwidth account or technical setup on their end. If you added a logo and display name, that's what they see instead of the default Bandwidth branding.
